Today on June 27, HEARTIK members gathered at Oakland Lake for a community cleanup dedicated to preserving one of our local parks and promoting environmental responsibility. Volunteers worked together to collect litter, clear walking paths, and properly dispose of waste, helping create a cleaner and safer space for both visitors and wildlife. Although much of the trash consisted of small items such as bottle caps, wrappers, and plastic fragments, the event served as a reminder that even the smallest actions can have a meaningful impact. Just as small pieces of litter can accumulate and harm the environment, small acts of service can collectively make a significant difference. By working together, volunteers demonstrated that every effort counts and that positive change begins with simple, consistent actions within the community.
