On Saturday, June 20, the Herricks and Westbury branches co-hosted an inclusive arts and crafts event at Shelter Rock Public Library.
With the support of volunteers, the children became little ocean designers, using cardboard, tissue paper, and paper towel rolls to create sea creatures such as starfish, sharks, and stingrays. Their creativity and imagination came together to form a colorful underwater world.
In celebration of Father's Day, the children also made special gifts for their dads. Using foam sheets and colorful stickers, they designed unique shirt-and-tie crafts filled with love and appreciation.
The fun continued with interactive games, including The Big Wind Blows and Musical Chairs. These activities encouraged social interaction while helping children develop focus, observation, and quick-thinking skills. Every child was fully engaged, and the room was filled with laughter and excitement.
The event concluded in a joyful atmosphere, with many parents and children sharing how much they enjoyed the activities and looking forward to future events.
We would also like to thank our volunteer leaders: Felice and Avery, for their excellent planning and facilitation, as well as all the volunteers and families for their support and participation. Happy Father's Day to all the dads in our community, and we look forward to seeing everyone again at our next event!
