Mother's Day Event Hosted by GN North Branch

On May 10,  the HEARTIK Great Neck North Branch proudly hosted a special Mother’s Day Fan Decorating Event at Great Neck House. Around 10 families attended, including children with special needs and dedicated student volunteers. Together, we created a welcoming and inclusive environment where children could express their creativity, celebrate Mother’s Day, and enjoy time with one another. During the event, children designed and decorated personalized fans with colorful drawings and creative artwork to give to their mothers. This hands-on activity not only encouraged self-expression, but also expressed their imagination. In addition to the art activity, some of the children also participated in a relaxing hand-care activity with their mothers. They helped apply hand scrub, wash their mothers hands, and put on hand masks, creating a thoughtful experience for the families. These activities encouraged responsibility, and everyday life skills while also helping the children practice following directions. With the support and encouragement of our volunteers, every child actively participated and proudly created unique fan designs to take home. We are grateful to all of the volunteers and families who helped make this event such a positive experience. We look forward to continuing to host more events like these, that bring families together and create memories and  opportunities for children to learn and grow.
