On September 7, the Heartik Autism Awareness Organization successfully hosted its inaugural charity art exhibition in Great Neck, Long Island. The event welcomed hundreds of attendees, including many families impacted by autism, and was widely recognized as a meaningful and impactful community gathering.
The exhibition featured a diverse collection of works created by both neurotypical and neurodiverse young artists. Several participants from Project Ready contributed their artwork, which drew praise for its originality and artistic expression. A highlight of the afternoon was the participation of neurodiverse artists, who confidently presented their work during media interviews and shared personal stories of living with developmental challenges—demonstrating courage, creativity, and resilience.
Heartik volunteers played a vital role in ensuring the event’s success, earning commendation from partner autism organizations. One representative remarked:
“Witnessing second-generation Chinese American youth dedicate themselves to serving the special needs community and fostering inclusive connections was truly moving. May they continue to grow with empathy, change the world, and make it a better place.”
In addition to fostering a spirit of inclusion and creativity, the exhibition successfully raised funds to support Heartik’s future programs. The event united individuals from diverse backgrounds around a shared appreciation for art, affirming the belief that art brings people closer together, while love strengthens the community.
